Grocery bag from feed bag tutorial

Cut feed bag open at bottom
1. Lay bag flat and cut off top where you opened the bag
2. Cut two - three inch strips from top (save these for making the handles)

 3. Turn bag inside out and stitch bottom closed, creasing bag where it naturally folds at the bottom. Sew

4.With bag still inside out stitch corners about two inches from point lining up the seam.

 5. Mark two inches from end point of seam, draw a line and stitch (I use my quilting square which has a 45° line SEW

 6. I fold back the corner on my inside seam a give it a little stitch to hold in place.  This is my squish and try to find a flat spot to sew, but you could stitch this down by hand or even just cut off the extra material.

 7. Turn right side out and fold under top twice and top stitch.

 8. Using the two - three inch strips make the handles.  Cut open the strips where they overlap and lay out flat.

9. Fold both sides to the middle then fold in half, top stitch along both edges.

10. I made my straps 20" long and then sewed in place.

Cleveland Clinic

Here we are for two days of appointments for Ed. This is the visit where we find out if they will put him on the list. They will compile all of his information and then there is a meeting on Monday in which they will decide where he is to be (on or still waiting) in line for a transplant. As Ed needs double lung transplant and we have been coming here for four years now. I am really feeling anxious to what they are going to tell us.

Crafts

Today I was wondering what can I make from the bailing twine on the hay I have been throwing away. I decided to make coasters. I just started to make a circle with a single crochet then I crocheted over the twine. Voila a coaster. Notice the green twine inside the yellow yarn.

Baby goats

Now we have three baby goat born to two different mommies. Bella had twins Jack and Jill. SuzieQ had a little white boy, I named him Sam or Sammy not sure which I want for a name. My you g goat ScardyCat had a little bit but she wouldn't take care of it and he died. Very sad as we tried to save him. The babies are so darn cute. Spent the last two days building more pasture as I would like to separate the Billy.

Getting ready forThanksgiving

After butchering four rabbits we sent 21 Cornish-rock chickens and three turkeys to be butchered. I don't do the chickens and turkeys as that would be too much work without a chicken plucker, maybe that will be next years purchase. The turkeys were two Tom's and one hen, their breed is red heritage bourbon. They are beautiful turkeys and we have five left. Three turkeys weighting 8 1/2, 14, and 16 lbs. I cooked the 8 pounders last Saturday and realized I didn't cook it long enough also on Thanksgiving I will not stuff the turkey. I continued to cook the Turkey Monday and it was absolutely delicious. Hope Thanksgiving meal turns out great.
